Maple Mash Root Green
180 cm - ila tree
The Maple palmate (Acer palmatum Thunb.) or Momiji, is a shrub belonging to the Aceraceae family. It is originally from the Far East (Japan, Korea, Taiwan and China). Together with the A. japonicum, the A. shirasawanum, the A. sieboldianum, and the A. pseudosieboldianum it is commonly called a Japanese maple.
The genus name is coined from the Latin term Acer (hard, rough) for the particular hardness of the timber. The specific Latin epithet palmatum (in the shape of a palm) refers to palmate shape of the leaves. The varietal name is derived from the Latin terms atrum (black, dark) and purpureum (purple) in relation to dark red color of the foliage
