MANGO
The botanical name is Magnifera Indica. This tree comes from Southern Asia and was then introduced in most warm regions around the world.
It’s a fast-growing evergreen with short trunk and a wide, round crown; in a couple of years it can reach up to 20, 25 meters of height.
Its buds are orange or light rose, its leaves are dark green. They are shiny and leather-like, lanceolate-shaped and up to 20-25 cms long.

In early spring they grow big crops with many white and orange little flowers. After the flowers comes small oval fruits that fully grow in a couple of months.
Mango fruits grow in bunches of various colors (green, yellow, orange and red); size varies also from 300-400 g., but the biggest fruits could weigh almost 2 Kgs. each. The pulp is yellow, very juicy and sweet.

Mango is one of the most cultivated and eaten fruits in the world and that’s why there are hundreds of cultivar and hybrid species.
