220 cm - ila creation
Dicksonia Antarctica, also known as Tasmanian Fern, is a species of evergreen tree fern native to eastern Australia. In their habitat these ferns can grow to 15 m in height, but more typically grow to about 4.5–5 m and consist of an erect rhizome forming a trunk. The large, dark green fronds spread in a canopy of 2–6 m in diameter. It grows in environments with temperature from -10° till 40°, with high levels of humidity (like rainforests) and limited quantity of sun.
As ornamental plant it is not spread due to the extremely slow growth (only 5 cm per year). However it is highly appreciated from passionate in gardening even if the prices of an adult tree is very high.
In its natural form, the Tasmanian Fern takes about 40 years to grow till 1.5 m but, as many of low growth spieces, it is long-lived and can survive till 1000 years old.
