A Cherry blossom is the flower of any of several trees of genus Prunus, particularly the Japanese Cherry, Prunus Serrulata, which is called Sakura.
Hanami ("flower viewing") is the Japanese traditional custom of enjoying the transient beauty of flowers. From the end of March to early May, cherry trees bloom all over Japan,
creating wonderful landscapes.
This Cherry is a species of Prunus in the subgenus Cerasus (cherries), native to much of Europe and southwest Asia. It is closely related to the sweet cherry.
Prunus Cerasus is thought to have originated as a natural hybrid between Prunus Avium and Prunus Fruticosa in the Iranian Plateau or Eastern Europe where the two species come into contact.
